The topic of the 9th IES was leadership of principals and student development. The principals included experts and scholars from China Education Association for International Exchange, Peking University, Tsinghua University, and University of Cambridge, and principals and administrators of Aidi School, Beijing Jianhua Experimental School, Beijing International Bilingual Academy, EduChina International High School, Beanstalk International Bilingual School, Pegasus California School, and Xi'an Gaoxin No.1 High School.
The Deputy Director of China Education Association for International Exchange and the Secretary of Commission on Chinese-foreign Cooperation in Education delivered speeches on "International High School Evaluation and Student Development". Focusing on national strategies, market rules and the mission of the schools, they explained the evaluation standards of international high schools in the context of policies and the general environment, combined with their own rich experience, and finally talked about the issue of student development. With the topic of "Making a Good Learning Environment for Innovative Talents" Professors from Tsinghua University shared how schools promote learner-centered practice from the perspective of scholars, combining his own research results and also with multiple cases at home and abroad.
The principals of well-known international schools also gave speeches on the themes of "Principals’ Leadership and Student Development" and "Taking actions: The Five 'Actions' of Leadership". Combined with their own practice, they discussed how to test and improve the thoughts and methods of principals’ leadership. During the discussion, the participants showed their thoughts and proposed solutions to problems such as the formulation of curriculum standards and curriculum evaluation standards and the development trend of international education in the era of uncertainty around the topic “Leadership and Student Development.
The 9th IES has come to a successful conclusion. Experts in international education and principals from all over the nation expressed that they had learned from the experience of others. KingLead will further promote the development and implementation
of the project with scholars in universities and colleges at home and abroad as well as international schools and contribute to China’s international innovative talents cultivation.
