How to Emphasis the Cultivation of International Innovative Talent in Elementary Education

On January 13, 2019, the 2nd session of KingLead International Education Symposium on Cultivation Mechanism for International Innovative Talents and International Comparison Research initiated by KingLead International was successfully held in the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (ICC). Many well-known education scholars, principals of international schools and outstanding student representatives gathered together to discuss the cultivation of international innovative talents. After the discussion, KingLead and participants were invited to attend the "Outstanding Engineer Award Ceremony" held by the International Scientific Exchange Foundation of China at the Great Hall of the People.
Many principals, teachers and outstanding student representatives from international schools and international department of public schools were invited including the High School Affiliated to Renmin University of China (ICC), Tsinghua University High School, PKUHS Tianjian School, International Department of Shude High School, Jingcheng School and Suzhou North America High School.
“Outstanding Engineer Award” is currently the most authoritative and broadest award for engineering and technical personnel in China. The ceremony was initiated by 29 domestic scientists and 25 overseas Chinese scientists including Yang Zhenning, Chen Xingshen, Ding Zhaozhong, Zhu Jingwu and Tian Changlin. It was the national public foundation registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs and approved by the State Council and the People's Bank of China. Its business department was the Ministry of Science and Technology.
The participating principals delivered keynote speeches on “how to pay attention to the cultivation of innovative talents in the stage of basic education” through specific innovative education practice in schools, including the development of well-known international schools, the innovative educational models, the policy for the running of international schools, the integration of Chinese and western education, and other hot issues in international education innovation.
Outstanding students from various international schools delivered speeches around “My Career Ideas for Future Innovation Society”. Students paid more attention to emerging industries, such as AI and Internet of Things. At the same time, they made exploration and bold imagination in art, design, software application and other innovative fields, which added a new perspective and exploration points for the discussion of the seminar.
After the seminar, the participants went to the Great Hall of the People to attend the third “Outstanding Engineer Award” ceremony. By watching the awards ceremony, the guests knew the stories behind the winners, their innovation spirits, witnessed our country’s outstanding engineers with great originality, spirits and dreams to be the development backbone of China, studied the time spirit of remembering the original aspiration and forging ahead, and also increased confidence and motivation to cultivate more innovative talents for our country.
This KingleadIES is based on the foundation and results of the first one, focusing on the micro level of international innovative talent cultivation. Through entering schools to do joint research and discussion with principals, teachers and students,
more research materials and practical experience will be provided for this project. Guests at the IES have expressed that through the comparison between various schools, they learnt a lot.
